Principal’s Report
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, students and expanded school community at Snug Primary School for the warmest of welcomes and wonderful support.
I believe that I have already formed a close connection to the school and I am eager to celebrate the successes of the students and the great work the teachers do.
With the onset of winter, I encourage students to ensure that they are prepared for the cooler weather with appropriate warm clothing and waterproof gear if they are walking to and from school.
Reports will be sent home today and, for those parents who have yet to book a parent-teacher interview, please do so ASAP. If you are unable to meet with your child’s teacher next week, please contact them to organise an alternative time.
Ian Thomas
Acting Principal
Kath’s Spot
During the week I have been chatting to a lot of students about what it means to be at our best. We have been talking about following Snug CARES, and how we can lead our peers and other age groups in a positive way.
Do you ever get to the end of the day and finally sit down, and then have the opportunity to reflect on your day? I shared how of an evening I hop into bed, then often have a big sigh of relief that I have made it through another day, then I go about processing my day. I think about when might have been moments that I got it right, and when are moments that I didn’t do so well at representing my best. Then I have the opportunity to think about how I can learn from this reflection, can I do something to make it right?
By us taking this approach to our learning, young people pick up on it, and also begin this process of reflection on their behaviour and interactions.
We have been identifying with the students that every moment is for learning, and we are all learners, not just the students.
At this point in the term when everyone is a tad tired and emotional, I am encouraging everyone to try their best, put in excellent effort and to own their own behaviours. It is not accepting to leave others out, it is not respectful to whisper behind someone, and it is not how we do things in Snug. We are Accepting and Respectful, we value Excellence and Safety, and WE ARE Community. Let’s all show our best to others around us.
Many Blessings

Finn’s Tablet
Teacher Assistants have been learning about how to use Finn's Communication Tablet. He is a lot quicker at learning it than them! He can send an email, take a picture, type a story, attach a document and many more things.

Mid-Year Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
Mid-Year Reports have gone home this afternoon. Parent Teacher Interviews will run next week from Monday 18th June to Friday 22nd June. To book an appointment with your child’s teacher, go to the link below.
Please note - all bookings need to be made by Sunday evening. This is to prevent ‘on the day’ bookings as teachers need time to prepare for interviews. You are welcome to contact the office directly if you wish to make a booking after this time. Thanks.

Call for Donations!
This year Snug Primary School will once again be holding their biannual School Fair.
In preparation for this we are currently seeking donations from our community to assist us with prizes for our raffle.
Proceeds from our raffle will go towards much needed equipment and resources throughout the school as well as the continued development of our playground and will support the continuation of our kitchen garden program.
If you or someone you know would like make a donation of products or services that can be used in our upcoming raffle, please contact the school on 62679230 or drop your donation into the school office.
Please note: Due to a lack of storage, no preloved items will be accepted at this time. A request will be placed in the newsletter and on Facebook closer to the fair date for women’s and children’s clothing, books and toys that can be used on the second hand stall at the fair.
Uniform Request
Could families please check names in students’ jumpers. We have had many named jumpers go missing and would love to have them back with their rightful owners as soon as possible especially as the weather quickly cools down.
NDIS Information Session
Miriam Holthuis is our local area co-ordinator for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Miriam will be coming to school on Friday 22nd June to speak with our early years families about the way the National Disability Insurance Scheme works for 0-6 year olds. This will be in the Kinder classroom at 11.15am.
