Principal’s Report
Hi Parents, Families and Community,
End of term
Its hard to believe that yet another term is coming to an end. Please enjoy your break and stay safe during the holidays. Holidays start on Monday September 27, and we are back to school on October 11.
Crossing
As our number one priority is to keep all students safe, can all parents and caregivers please hold the hands of toddlers/young ones when crossing the Channel Highway, including at the crossing. We have had a couple of instances recently where young children have run from families and in front of cars.
Learn to Swim
We have enjoyed our first week of Learn to Swim for our Year three to five students. It’s so important that we spend this time getting our students water confident, so they can enjoy all of the water opportunities we are blessed with in Tasmania! Next week is the final week.
Classes for 2022
You will have been sent a note home outlining the process for any class requests for 2022. Please submit any requests asap, so we can consider them as we start to map out classes for next year.
Kind Regards,
Blair Curtis
Principal
Kath’s Spot
This week I have been working alongside a lot of the Year 6 students as they prepare for their upcoming play, which will occur early next term. It has been such a delight to see how much they have grown and changed since they were in Kinder and Prep.
I seen some students learning to take initiative to clean up and make next steps forward. I seen negotiations happening, those helping others to make decisions, and discussions helping to outline the purpose and scenario to help with the decision making process.
Wow- how far these students have come from the little ones that may have put up their hand or thought ‘me first’.
At Snug Primary we continue to strive to put our students in positions were they are encouraged to learn from others, to be challenged by change, adversity and difference. Don’t we all learn from this?
Let’s continue to look for those moments when those around us have grown and succeeded, and give them praise for doing this. We want to encourage growth and the opportunities that come with those moments along our journey.
Many Blessings

Message from the Kean Family
Susie, Brian, Jim and Calvin would like to pass on their gratitude and say a huge thank you to everyone that has donated, helped out or supported us in any way over the last few weeks. We really couldn’t have got through without our amazing family, friends and community. We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of people. You are all amazing. Even your kind thoughts and hugs have made our loss easier to cope with.
Cheers
Susie
Class In Focus – Year 1B
It’s been an exciting year so far for the intrepid learners from Class 1B. It’s a class where we ask the big questions, like: what’s the strongest shape? What’s 88 plus 88? What happens if I push this?
We are so very lucky to have our program supported by some amazing staff in the garden, drama room, STEM, music, library and PE departments.
Our class has also been visited this year by some caring and amazing people that have shared their passions with us – a special shout out here to Pete who came in to speak to us about the Hobart Rivulet Platypus.
Lately we have been trialling a Tuesday afternoon Guided Reading session where some parents have been coming in to read with a group of students and then complete some activities to work on their understanding, comprehension and fluency while reading.
We are thrilled to share some photos with our school community of some of the exciting things we’ve done.
