Principal’s Report

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Community,

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of the first week of 2021 – the summer holidays certainly fly by! I hope you were all able to spend valuable time with friends and family and are ready for the year ahead.

It has been a fantastic first week. Our brand new Prep students (many of whom were with us at Kinder last year) have settled in magnificently and are already a lovely part of our primary team.

Our other classes have also had a flying start with everyone already exemplifying our Snug CARES values – we are making a special effort to help everyone feel welcome in our school.

Our teachers, teacher assistants and office staff have done an excellent job of getting the school, classes and learning programs ready. A big thanks to our ground staff and cleaners for ensuring our school environment looks amazing.

A reminder to parents that we are always available to chat to you about your child and their education. Make time with classroom teachers if there is something you need to discuss; senior staff (myself included) are also available should you wish to meet with us too.

I know 2021 is going to be another wonderful year at Snug Primary School.

Kind Regards,

Blair Curtis
Principal

Kath’s Spot

Well, welcome back to school in this year of 2021! How wonderful to see so many smiley faces and the joy that comes with students seeing their friends again. Many parents told me their children had been up early on Wednesday morning dressed and ready, keen to get to school, how fantastic! Although, it probably did mean there were a few tired bodies by the end of the day.

During our time away I hope you all had the chance to do some of your favourite things, like visit the beach, read a book, visit family and friends. I love being able to go camping with mates and it was great to spy a few Snugletts enjoying their holidays at the same locations as our family.

As we plod our way through 2021 I want to remind you all to stay in touch. I am the Chaplain in the school so am often in and out of classrooms or catching up with students and carers, I am sure you will see me around. Feel free to yell out if you need any support in any way, I’m happy to organise a time to chat or a food hamper if you are in a time of need.

May this year be a time of great learning!

Many Blessings

Kath Dolliver
Chaplain

2021 Enrolment and Re-Enrolment information is now available from the office and OSHC. There is new and important information that families need in these packs, so please be sure to collect one ASAP. Thanks!

Book Club

Book Club orders are submitted and paid for online via the Book Clubs Loop. Please go to the link below. It’s a very straightforward process to sign up and then super quick and easy to place orders. The Loop for the current book issue will be closed off on Wednesday 17th February so ensure you have your orders in by then. Books will arrive to school and be distributed to students a few weeks later.

School Banking

Wednesday is school banking day. Please remember to write your student number on the deposit slips. Replacement Dollarmite wallets are available from the office.

New Bankers are very welcome – for every new banker, the school receives a $5.00 commission and then 5% of every deposit made thereafter. Just head to any Commonwealth Bank with some ID for yourself and your child (a drivers licence and birth certificate, for example) and ask to open a Youthsaver Account for School Banking. You’ll be given a deposit book and Dollarmites wallet on the spot and will be able to begin banking the next business day - it’s that easy!

Rewards Program: For every deposit your child makes, they will receive a silver Dollarmite token. Once they have received 10 tokens then will then receive a gold Dollarmite token which they can redeem for an exclusive Dollarmite reward item.
