Principal’s Report
Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher, is quoted as saying "change is the only constant in life." As a school community we are in a state of constant change and improvement and I am so awed by the way our community embraces this. New families, new programs, new ideas and new ways of learning – these are the things I see as I move around the school. This fortnight I thought I would share some quotes from our students in regard to the new playground equipment.
“ The climbing wall is the best. I think the students are really challenging themselves. They are happy to have something new.” – Tom C
“The slide is so fast” – Ollie B
“This is the best playground ever” – Skye K.
“We are making a Horse’s Head challenge” – Archie
“The swings are much better – but the chains are cold this morning!” - Brett D
Shortly you will receive information about booking a parent teacher interview time with your child’s teacher. At Snug we value the relationship between home and school as we know that students learn best when communication is open and frequent. Please make a time with your child’s teacher/s to discuss reports that will come home on June 16th and any other questions you may have about their learning.

Kath’s Spot
With winter hitting us hard already, it’s that season when coughs and colds seem to come around time and time again. Sometimes the kids are just starting to feel better, and then you feel miserable and you realise it has hit you as well.
Due to all the sickness, it’s time to be extra careful with making sure you and the kids have an extra jumper when out in the cold and getting some early nights. I know myself, if I have a late night I feel a little down, and perhaps even a bit teary. This can be overwhelming too when you don't feel the best, then put a sore throat on top of that and everything can feel much harder work.
This is when processes are a great tool. Put the kids to work after school and get them to unpack their lunchboxes and repack them and put them in the fridge ready for the next day. This then will help with the morning routine and may help to get out the door a few minutes earlier too. Of a morning, sometimes it feels like there is so much to do so one less thing to knock off the list, I'm sure will be great.
As a parent sometimes the kids say "I don't feel well" and it is such a hard thing to work out whether it is accurate or if they are feeling anxious about something. Ask data-related questions that help you as a parent work out if they are actually unwell. If they are worried about something at school, try to work out a plan, perhaps changing the morning routine or seeking help by chatting with their teacher, or myself, our Social Worker - Cindy or even Mrs. Jeffrey. Together as a team, we want everyone to feel welcome and safe. If there is anything we can do to make that happen, please let us know.
Many Blessings
