Principal's Report
Dear Families
I would like to thank those who were able to make our School Association AGM and regular meeting on Tuesday night. It is wonderful to work with such a dedicated group of people for the benefit of our children and school community.
Congratulations to these members nominated Tuesday night for the Executive and General Member positions:
Brendan Coad – Chair
Stephanie Semmens – Deputy Chair
Lorna Barrett – Treasurer
Ali Nichols Howe – Secretary
General members –
Alice Godfrey
Andrew Watkins
Catherine Coad
Michelle Rathbone
Sandra Sorgi
Katrina Graham
This makes up our full component of 15 members on the committee. We certainly welcome any other interested parents to join our meetings.
Yesterday we held our Jump Rope for Heart Jump Off and Footy Colours Day. It was fantastic to see the students rotating around the stations displaying skipping skills, co-operation skills and developing great attitudes to fitness. Many thanks to Mrs Jac Parker and our Grade 6 students for organising the event.
I would like to wish all our families a safe and restful holiday. We look forward to seeing you back on Monday 10th October for Term 4.

Kath's Spot
Towards the end of term we often see tired little people, and big people. I know we have all had those moments when your child has just burst into tears about nothing in particular or, for that matter been angry or frustrated when they are usually very calm and giving to others. This is completely normal!!
Have you ever had one of those nights when your child was little and you have been up during the night, and the next day you go to the supermarket and someone says something that is completely normal and you feel like bursting into tears? Well, for students at the end of term, it kinda feels like that moment. In the last week or term especially, everything often feels overwhelming and sometimes exhausting.
With this in mind, remind yourself and the kids that this is completely normal. Holidays are a great opportunity to relax, have a sleep in, and get some sun rays into those bodies of yours. A hit of Vitamin D can do wonders; with statistics showing it can even reduce depression and anxiety. So organise a playdate with friends at the park, or go for a family bush walk, maybe do something you haven't done in ages. And please, please be kind to yourself. Acknowledge when you are feeling a little under the weather and ask for some help along the way...we have all been there. Sometimes it is time to ask for help, other times it is our turn to stretch out a friendly hand to help and to ask RU OK? Why not go and ask someone now that has been on your mind!
Blessings to you all and Happy Holidays

Class in Focus – Kinder Possums
Kindergarten has been a busy place in Term 3. Our program revolves around play experiences and we base much of our planning around developing learning intentions to support the 5 keys to Success – cooperation, resilience, persistence, organisation and getting along with others. These keys align really well with the Early Years Learning Framework.
We have explored how things move on land, air and sea with some wonderful pirate adventures, car designing and building and rocket launching. Cooking has been very popular with the children and they have cooperated, followed instructions and enjoyed cooking in the school kitchen in small groups. Our pizzas were very yummy!
Book Week provided us with the opportunity to dress up and we confidently paraded to some other classes in the school. We are enjoying the warmer weather (some days) and the sandpit has become a construction site with hard hats, tools and timber. As the children built they investigated structure of bridges and roads with lots of exploration, observation, negotiation and discussion. What great skills to have as a lifelong learner!
