Principal’s Report
Hi Families and Community,
It was fantastic to get such a wonderful turn out for our Trivia Night last Friday. Having such support from our community really helps us in what we do, so thank you to everyone for making the effort. An extra thanks to all of our sponsors who contributed on the night, and of course, our School Association, for staging the event.
Athletics Day – It was great to have so many of you also participate in our Athletics Day on Wednesday. It’s always a fun Snug Day, and it is a terrific opportunity for all students to step up, stretch themselves, and have a go.
Lisa Ford: Lisa Ford made another appearance at Snug this week, to discuss resilience in our children, and how we, as adults, can support this. She is a brilliant speaker, and we are lucky enough to have one more free session we can attend – at Margate Primary, Wednesday 20 November exploring “Navigating Friendships”. Please contact the Margate Primary office if you’d like to register – it will be well worth it.
PAT Testing: For the next fortnight, we undertake our annual PAT testing. This is an opportunity to measure how our students are tracking against national means, and to also determine how much growth they have made – critical information that informs our planning and our teaching.
Kinder health checks: We are expecting a school nurse to be with us from next week to conduct kinder health checks. These health and development assessments are free, and will operate out of kinder.

What wonderful opportunities our school has had on offer over the last week, with the Trivia night being a highly successful community event, and this week Snug Primary hosted Lisa Ford sharing her expertise on Building Resilience in Children.
Within such events and in my day to day at Snug Primary I have the privilege of touching base with students, staff and families, and I love being involved with our community events. What I notice amongst all the hustle and bustle is that here at Snug we value Community, and that there is always someone we can rely on. So it seems fitting that this is the habit of the week that our students have been learning about.
We appreciate that within our worlds, we can have had a lot going on, and we want to stretch out our arms and help to be a support for others. We want to be someone that others can rely on, just as we appreciate the gift it is to have others to rely on when we need it most.
As we approach the end of year, I am putting my list together of family names to be able to bless families with a hamper for this busy season, if you are in need and I haven’t as yet touched base, please get in touch, or let your child’s teacher know for me to get in touch. We want to be a resource that you can rely on when you need that extra support. Life ebs and flows and we are all at different points at different stages. Let me support at this time.
