Principal’s Report
It is with a mixture of immense pride, a bucketful of gratitude, and a whisp of sadness that we say goodbye to our 2023 school year. It has been another amazing year at Snug Primary School, with our students excelling, our community back and together, and our staff unified in their mission to bring out the very best in our students here.
I would like to take this opportunity to says thanks and commend the amazing students in our school for living our Snug CARES values, trying their best, and supporting each other. Like all young people, school present opportunities and challenges, but we are so blessed that the students here are prepared to have a go, and stretch themselves
Of course, for this to happen, we need to support them with the right environment and supports. Our whole team this year has contributed to Snug Primary being a place of learning:
- our school grounds, always so wonderfully kept, with clean classrooms and communal areas, make this a place you want to be – to that, we say thank you to all of our Education Facility Attendants who make this space so inviting;
- to our incredible office staff, models of efficiency, helpfulness, and warmth – we literally could not be luckier with Jo, Cathy and Michelle as the first stop in our school;
- we are also so lucky with our specialist support staff – a huge thanks to Clare, Sam, and Jess for going above and beyond to help students and their families;
- a special thanks to our School Association, and its chairperson Chris Morgan, for being such a tight support for our school this year;
- to Kath Dolliver, our exceptional chaplain, who is always available for students, families and staff alike;
- and to our outstanding education team, our talented, driven, caring teachers and Teacher Assistants, who always have students at the centre of what they do at Snug – your contribution in 2023 has been immense, and I want to thank you for going on this exciting journey with me.
- To my amazing senior staff team – an exceptional group of individuals, who consistently strive for excellence to make this school what it is.
- And finally, thank you to you - our parents, carers, and community - for continuing to be such a central part of who we are. We are Snug, and you are us – we value everything you do to support your children, and our school.
Have a wonderful break, enjoy time with family and friends, and please be safe. Like you, we are looking forward to some time off, but we are already excited about where we can go together next year.
Kind regards
Kath’s Spot
Last week I had the pleasure of joining with the many family, staff and community members to celebrate our wonderful Year 6 students for their Graduation Ceremony. What a celebration!! For years I have felt as though I have been watching on from the sidelines as these students begun with us as wee little people and have grown over the years both in stature and maturity. This is the joy of what we were able to celebrate last Thursday together as a Snug Primary Community. We not only celebrated academic achievements, but we also were able to recognise giftings and efforts put in to Drama, Music, Sports, Language and the efforts to serve both our community, and globally as well as the efforts carried out to fulfill our Snug CARES Values.
Not only have our students here in year 6 been celebrating their successes, all our students over the last fortnight have been practicing the habit of the mind of “We celebrate our successes with each other”. This has been carried out by acknowledging great works both in class, and outside of class. Together we want to celebrate these great efforts and great learning!
I would like to send both our students and all your families with many blessings for a safe and happy summer period, and I will look forward to seeing you all back next year! And for those families who are finishing up with us this year, please don’t be strangers, please come and say hi again, we will miss you all!
Many Blessings
